By Hanson Tjung Last Februari 14th, me and my whole family once again had a chinese new year which fall on the same day with Valentine’s Day.
Imlek tahun ini memang agak berbeda dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Dimulai dari tragedi hilangnya hp SE G900 saya yang berujung pada happy ending dapat BB Onyx (haha!) sampai ke Imlek pertama for my first nephew, Lyndon.
Pagi-pagi sekali jam 7-an, I guess, my bro and sis-in-law knocked on my door, woke me up, and wished me happy new year. Of course, they gave me ‘angpao’ (haha! again). Then I got ready to go silaturahmi or istilah kerennya ‘pai nyen’. I also had ‘angpao’ for my nephew since I’m the UNCLE, you know-laaah.
The next hours was very great. Sepanjang hari no rain and no traffic di jalan raya. We went to my grand’ma’s first. Long time no see her and she looks great and happy. Tapi ada saat-saat menegangkan di sana. Well, I can’t tell the exact story but intinya tidak semua saudara saya merasa bahagia like my family. Tentunya ada yang mengalami masa-masa sulit int the past one year and that is not pleasant to have saat saya menjadi sasaran empuk.
However, the rest of the day was awesome. Saya bertemu dengan saudara-saudara from my Dad. Ga sering all of us bisa berkumpul, ngobrol, and bercanda tawa mpe ga tw waktu. Honestly, I felt more comfortable with the ‘Tjung Clan’ than any past new year. Don’t know why, but I really can express myself around the uncles, aunties, cousins, and also sisters. It feels close and warm when you are around people that you love and love you.
Ada yang bilang kalau sebenarnya Valentine’s Day itu ga perlu dirayakan. But for myself, I think it is worth of celebration. Orang-orang terkadang lupa kalau KASIH itu penting and dengan adanya Valentine, kita diingatkan untuk menyatakan kasih kepada orang yang kita sayang. Apalagi dengan bertepatannya hari kasih sayang ini dengan Imlek. It uis good to celebrate LOVE with people you love, FAMILY.
